Birchbox Sample Box {March 2015}

It's that time of the month where we rip the lid right off of my latest Birchbox!  Whoop, whoop!  When my subscription boxes start rolling in during the middle of the month, I can't open them fast enough to see what goodies are inside.  This month, there was some definite winners and a few losers as well, but overall, I'm a happy girl! A week or two before they ship out boxes, Birchbox lets you pick either one of the products you will receive or the specialty box! By picking a specialty box, you forgo the element of surprise by seeing what you'll get ahead of time, but I'm okay with that!

For the third month in a row, I opted for the specialty box and even though I didn't end up loving everything I got, for the ones that I did like...I LOVE them!

Curious what came in the Beauty Solutions box this month?  Well...let's dive on in!!

#1 | Dear Clark: Volumizing Hair Tonic

I was surprised at how well this stuff works!  When spritzing this on the roots of damp hair before blow-drying, it promises to add lift and volume to tired, limp hair.  Well...let me tell definitely does!

Before I dried my hair, I sprayed just a little bit of this on my roots, then dried as usual.  It gave my hair nice bounce and body, without any added stiffness or stickiness.  I'm a fan!!  I think I will definitely be placing an order for a full size bottle of this little gem.

#2 | Whish: Three Whishes Body Butter - Almond

I love Whish products, but I've found their body butters are not fave products for me.  I reviewed another body butter by them a few months ago and was very disappointed (mostly with the smell on that one).  The almond scent was a definite improvement over the other one, but it's not thick enough in my opinion to classify as a 'body butter'.

Its a nice moisturizer and maybe for summer when you don't want a heavy cream it would be fine, but my bone to pick is with the label 'body butter' since I find that to be a bit misleading.  If you don't like a heavy cream, then I would definitely recommend this product since it is hydrating, but if you are looking for a true 'body butter', keep on looking because this one just isn't it!

#3 | Laura Geller Beauty: Baked Blush-n-Brighten

Ok...I LOVE this blush!  Like...seriously LOVE it!  I loved how it looked in the compact, but when I dusted it on my cheeks, I was amazed at how pretty it looks!  The color is lovely warm pinky shade, but what really sets this apart if that it makes my skin glow.

It is a blush + highlighter and works perfectly to give my cheeks a rosy glow and make me appear much more awake and fresher than I probably am!  I will be using every inch of this sample and will absolutely be ordering it once I'm down to the last bits!

#4 | Supergoop!: Advanced SPF 37 Anti-Aging Eye Cream

This eye cream promises to fight signs of aging and brighten skin.  I currently have a skin care line that I adore, but I still gave this a shot.  It was....okay.  It has the consistency of a sunscreen, which I didn't care for (i.e. thin and not creamy).  It hydrated my under eye area, but I didn't notice any 'brightening', so I wasn't overly impressed.

#5 | derma e:  Evenly Radiant Brightening Day Creme SPF 15

This day creme promises to make dull, uneven skin smoother and more luminous.  I didn't really see this effect and I wasn't a huge fan of this creme.  This could be because I am currently using products that I absolutely love and that works better with my skin than anything else, but I didn't feel like the hydration lasted throughout the day.

I tend to have drier skin and if a cream doesn't have enough hydration, my skin is left feeling thirsty (which basically makes it feel yucky) by mid-afternoon.  This is exactly how this stuff made my face feel, so after one try, I won't be using it again.

Time to take score and see how we did this month! Two of the products were a bust and one of the products was just 'ok' (the body butter).  But, I LOVED the final two products!! That may seem like a bad month since I only liked two out of five products, but I love those two products so much that it completely makes up for the other three!  I still consider this month a win since I think I've discovered two new fave products to add to my arsenal!
