Now that Thanksgiving is in the rearview mirror, the Christmas season is officially here! This is definitely my favorite time of the year…the lights, the decorations, the homemade cookies, the smile on a loved one’s face when they open my gift…I could go on and on!
Right now, with the season spread out before us, it seems like we’ve got oodles of time to enjoy the season, right?
But, we all know how fast this month zips by with all of the parties, shopping, decorating, baking, etc. By the time we get to sit down, it’s December 26 and the season is over for another year.
The worst part is when you look back and realize that you didn’t get to do some of the things you really wanted to do.
If you identify with that, then today’s post is just for you!!
Today…I want you to take a moment to think about the next couple of weeks and ask yourself a few questions...
- What do you want to get out of this season?
- What would make this season feel magical?
- What memories would you like to make?
Notice I did not ask you to think about your never ending to do list. Yes…you have a million things to do, but what I’d like you to consider are the things not on your list that would set this season apart from those in the past.
How do you want to feel this season and how can you sprinkle in some magic to make that happen?
To help you on this mission, I’ve created a PDF that you can download and use to identify what memories you want to make, along with prompts for where to go, what to eat, and what to do to help you make those memories a reality.
And, because the season can be crazy busy doing for others, there is also a section at the bottom where you can brainstorm on things you can do to take some time for yourself. Maybe you want to get a manicure, maybe you want to get up early on the weekend to sit quietly and journal about the season or read a favorite book…it doesn’t matter what it is as long as it’s something that would feel special to you and allow you to have some time to yourself. Consider that a free gift for yourself!
In the interest of celebrating the beginning of the holiday season or to inspire you to create yours, here are a few things that are on my list. This is definitely not everything! I tend to think of more and add to it as I go along, but for now, these are some of the things I know I want to try to accomplish over the next 25 days...
Now that I have my list started, let’s do this, Christmas 2015!
