Carry Your Gratitude Forward

It’s a word we hear a lot; especially this time of year.  The end of the year looms, the holidays beckon, and we’re encouraged to share our gratitude loudly and proudly.  So, we see daily gratitude posts on Instagram, Facebook, etc.

I love it.  I love the slight shift in energy that comes from seeing so many people share the little things each day that makes them grateful for their slice of the world.

If only this practice would continue year round.  Can you imagine?  Everyone takes stock of what’s good in the world instead of what’s bad.  The bad would still exist, of course, but the power would lessen.

Seeing and expressing gratitude allows us to invite in more of the good stuff.  It’s a filter - a perspective.

We attract what we put out.

It’s not magic or woo-woo BS.  It’s simply a matter of the lens through which we view our lives.  If we peer through one of gratitude, we naturally start to seek out more good things.

Right now, the world is challenging.  If we slipped off our gratitude lens and peered through one a bit darker (some may say more ‘realistic’), we can see all of the ugliness around us.  It’s always there, and sadly, we don’t have much control to change some of these things.  But, we do have the ability to change ourselves and our own world.

My goal in writing blog posts, sending weekly emails, and coaching high-achieving women is to help you discover what’s missing in your life.  While that can take some digging and work to uncover the gold nugget of what you need for a more fulfilled or rewarding life, it starts with a much smaller change - shifting your perspective to one of more gratitude.

As you go forward in life, look for the tiny things that provide a sense of thankfulness.  These are the seeds that have the potential to take root and bloom into something gorgeous.  Nurture those because they have the power to grow into something beautiful and you don’t want to miss it.

Feel like sharing?  I’d love to hear what you’re feeling blessed to have in your life at this moment. Leave a comment below and let me know!
